Screencaps for Ep 1.11 added

I have just added the screencaps for The Bullet to the episodes' page. When Jeff Williams, a college teacher, is paying off a blackmailer – who acutally is a former police officer specialised in blackmailing former cons who have become well-off – he is accidentally hit by a bullet in his shoulder while hiding behind the kitchen door whereas the blackmailer is killed. He can make it out of the house just before the hit-man discovers his trail of blood, however, the blackmailer’s calendar reveals his name – among one other - so the killer is on his chase to eliminate the witness and recover the incriminating bullet from his shoulder. Stone and Keller are on the trail of the assassin already but need to have that bullet analysed, however, Williams does not agree to the surgical intervention due to his background and fear of the social prejudices. Mike and Steve are somehow impressed by Williams’ dedication for his teaching activity and his students, but even when the other man whose name was listed in the calendar is found murdered, Williams would not agree to have the bullet removed until the killer abducts his wife.

In this episode, Stone is stepping into Williams’ shoes to free his wife and detain the hit-man at the same time. Following a chase in the dark, the police can finally take the killer by surprise and save the lifes of Stone and Mrs. Williams. There is also an amusing factor throughout the episode as Mike’s complete incomprehension for William’s behaviour amuses Steve in a certain way. In the end, however, even Mike is appreciative of William’s decisions, and the epilogue has a good laugh too. This episode takes us to the University of San Francisco campus, including nearby Petrini's Plaza, to the famous Motel Capri on Greenwich Street, to Mount Davidson for a short scene, and to a residential neighbourhood located in Daly City. The epilogue, when Steve is buying Mike a book on lyric poetry, was filmed on the western part of Union Street.

Official ABC Press Release Photos added

I am about to leave for holidays, so I just would like to drop you a line concerning the latest addition to the site. As promised in one of my recent blogs, I added a first batch of 15 official ABC press release photos to the media page. I put them right above the official DVD releases - for better access. You can enlarge the photos to 1024p by clicking on the thumbnail. Hope you enjoy the pictures - more to follow!

The next additions will include the cover art of the season two, three, four, and five DVD boxes as well as the screencaps of the next due episode.

Screencaps for Ep 1.10 added

The screencaps for The Year of the Locusts are now accessible on the episodes' page. While investigating the robbery of rare Jade gemstone blocks and the murder of a security officer, Mike Stone accidently notices the return of Angus Ferguson, patriarch of a modern-style Gypsy family, to the Bay Area. The Fergusons, led by the father-and-son team of Angus and Albert, are specialized in settling down, bleeding an entire neighbourhood white, and moving on quickly. However, neither Stone nor the old Ferguson are aware of the fact that the younger generation of the family, much influenced by a greedy son-in-law, has added robbery and murder to their portfolio of flim-flam.

We learn that Mike knows the Fergusons for almost a lifetime. He grew up in the same neighbourhood, and he loved Mama Ferguson's special cookies. On the one hand, he is quite biased and convinced that Angus Ferguson would never allow crime becoming part of their business; on the other hand, the cop knows that the members of the family are as thick as thieves, so that help from inside the group is much unlikely. However, the unavoidable dissension in the Ferguson family finally leads the ageing partriarch to assist Stone and Keller in the detention of the culprits.

Most of the location filming was done around Ghirardelli Square and inside the Pier 18 warehouse, just south of Ferry Terminal. Short sequences also include the Music Concourse in the Golden Gate Park, a neighbourhood on Telegraph Hill as well as the Financial District on California Street.

Media page updated

I did a long-awaited update to the media page and supplemented a couple of information and links for the official DVD releases (seasons 2 through 5 were not mentioned at all) as well as for the books published over the past years on the series itself and Quinn Martin, respectively.

Still, I need to scan and upload the full cover art of the official DVD sets. I will also extend the media page by adding official ABC press release photos of the series from my collection soon. These are black and white and measuring 8 x 10 in. in size - I am pretty sure I got less photos than other collectors but I think it might be an interesting supplement to the site.

Have a great week. :)

Screencaps for Ep 1.09 added

I uploaded the screencaps for The Takers to the episodes' page on monday, however, it took me two more days to blog about this. Sorry for the delay.

In this episode, Stone and Keller investigate the murder of two young and attractive women, a stewardess and a nurse, in a swinging apartment complex. Their investigation leads them to multiple suspects inside the apartment complex as both girls had changing partners and a certain preference for expensive gifts. However, our two cops are soon on the trail of a jewelry salesman, and a different motive finally leads them to a former housemate of the murder victims.

This episode's crime scene takes us south of San Francisco, to Burlingame, where a lot of location filming was accomplished. Besides the homicide department bureau, the filming locations also include Coit Tower, SF General Hospital, and San Francisco International Airport.
