Screencaps for Ep 1.06 added
The screencaps for Hall of Mirrors were just added to the episodes section, starring David Soul as Inspector Jim Martin whose mother once changed his original name Jaime Martinez in order to hide her son's Hispanic roots in an effort to find some equality in opportunity. As a result, Martin has become rather impatient and rude, particularly when investigating a crime amongst Hispanic people. While Steve is struggling with Martins aggressive attitude against Mexican suspects and witnesses in their current case, the injured Mike Stone takes a bus to Salinas, visiting Martin's mother, and discovers the truth behind Keller's temporary partner. Knowing about Martin's inner conflict, Stone and Keller can finally help him doing things right.
Apart from the murder they have to solve, this episode clearly focusses on social and cultural prejudices. I did not make it under 120 screencaps again, so this number may become the standard for each episode.
Location photos of Mike's and Steve's houses
I have just added an extended selection of screen captures and corresponding actual photos of Mike Stone's and Steve Keller's houses to the locations page. The actual photos were taken between 2010 and 2012, and it is amazing how much things are still the same - even some 40 years later!
Hope you enjoy it! :)
Screencaps for Ep 1.05 added
I've just posted screencaps for Tower beyond Tragedy in the episodes section, one of my favourites of the first season actually. Edward Mulhare performs excellently here as the ageing aristocrat Amory Gilliam who cannot cope with old age, trying to find relief in dating young, attractive women and turning their appearance into his wife when they were younger.
By the way, young Stefanie Powers is definitely on a par, performing a multi-rôle of Gilliam's latest victims. Furthermore, this is one of those psychothriller-like plots illustrating the wide spectrum of the series, and it also features that insistent piano sequence used several times throughout the series when a character's tragedy plays a major rôle. The dramatic climax of this episode takes us down the Pacific shore where Mike and Steve arrive on the scene and crush down a finally cracking down Gilliam just before he could hustle Kim Ahern down the rocks.
It actually was the first episode for me to capture on screen, so please apologise the number of 120 pictures.
July 15, 2013: Site re-launched!
First off all, I would like to say 'thank you so much' to Camilla for her effort and the great work she started with this website. Being a TSOSF fan since I was knee-high to a grasshopper, it is my pleasure having the opportunity to continue this project. So, after all the work 'behind the scenes', the site is officially re-launched and online today.
The visual 'face-lift' is just the beginning though. It is my scope to update the site more frequently, adding extended episode summaries and screencaps once a week, and the 'characters' and 'locations' categories will be supplemented too very soon. Still working on the existing contents and trying to update things as required. I have been to San Francisco several times over the past years and took a lot of impressions and photos of the original series' filming locations with me. You will find all this stuff added bit by bit here on thestreetsofsanfrancisco.net.
Please feel free to get in touch concerning any questions or ideas.
Watch out and enjoy! :)
