Location Photos for 'A Wrongful Death'
Folks,
I have made another addition to the locations page comprising a couple of original filming locations for season 2 premier episode A Wrongful Death. This episode offered a nice mixture of locations from all over the city, including Fishermans Wharf, Dolores Heights, Potrero Hill, and downtown San Francisco - I hope you enjoy the locations identified and the matching pictures from nowadays.
Following the screencaps and extended summary of the next due episode, 'I An't Marchin' Anymore', I will add even more location photos as I think this section deserves a bit more attention. ;)
Screencaps for Ep 3.04 added
I have just added the screencaps for Mask of Death to the episodes' page. The murder of a foreign salesman who was stabbed to death in his hotel room keeps Mike and Steve busy. Autopsy discloses rather untypical thrustings, and the victim's nightly schedule leads them to the shows of Ken Scott, a famous female impersonator who is performing in 'The San Francisco Theater'. Scott's perfect and somehow terrifying performance as well as an earlier impersonating role call Mike's and Steve's attention, revealing that Scott may suffer from schizophrenic disorder. We as audience learn that Ken Scott's alternate female characters are gaining predominance of his mind, with the female part being on a homicidal mission resulting from childhood drawbacks. While this one is not among my favourite episodes, John Davidson's performance is extraordinary, and the topic of 'schizophrenia' is coming to the fore. Plus, a life-or-death struggle between Steve and Scott's female personality highlights this episode.
The list of filming locations for this episode is rather short when compared to the majority of the series' episodes. Ken Scott performs at 'The San Francisco Theater' which used to be located at the corner of Post & Fillmore Streets (most of this area has been demolished and re-built over the decades), whereas the initial hotel indoor scenes were filmed at 'The Fairmont' on Nob Hill. We are also taken to the still unidentified mansion which was used in the predecessing episode, Target: Red, already. Steve flirts with attractive and wealthy owner Bobo Stanfield, making Mike somehow amused. The second murder victim is found inside the Sheraton Palace Hotel which is still sitting in its original location at Market and New Montgomery, whereas Ken Scott's old-fashioned brickstone mansion can be found in the Pacific Heights district.
Location Photos for 'Winterkill'
I have supplemented the locations page with screencaps and corresponding actual location photos for Winterkill, an episode that featured quite many different filming spots in downtown San Francisco, North Beach and Pacific Heights. Some of these were quite tough to identify but I am pretty sure you will enjoy the photos, again many perfectly matching shots were taken by Liz recently, and the tenuous rest by myself.
The screencaps and extended summary for the next due episode, 'Mask of Death', are in the works already. And I am going to add more location photos too (featuring 'A Wrongful Death' and others).
Screencaps for Ep 3.03 added
The screencaps for Target: Red were added to the episodes' page. The death of a well-known producer of high-precision guns alerts Stone and Keller, while the FBI approaches the SFPD as intelligence has received information on an intended attempt on the life of a Chinese politician of high ranking who is about to arrive with a Chinese business delegation at San Francisco Internaional Airport. A circle of ultraconservatives led by retired US Army General West is suspected to be pulling the strings, and having contracted a mentally unstable but most accurate marksman to kill the politician. Stone and Keller are set to find the killer's hideout and to prevent the assassination. A race against time begins.
Some of this episode's filming locations are quite tough to identify. It starts out at Candlestick Park where FBI agents observe retired Army General West and moves over to North Beach where marksman Schilling first deposits his camouflage clothing in a local bank deposit, and then choses one of the steaples of Saints Paul & Peter church as perfect location for the assassination. The location of General West's mansion remains unidentiied (it was used again in the subsequent episode, Mask of Death, by the way). Schilling's ex-wife lives in a apartment in Cow Hollow, and his son is treated in a hospital for the mentally ill, dubbed 'Pacific State Hospital', which actually is the former Shriners Children's Hospital on 19th Avenue, whereas Mike and Steve trace Schilling down to a Sausalito pharmacy and, finally, to famous 'The Spinnaker' at Sausalito Yacht Harbor where Schilling picks up the hooker whose apartment is located in Pacific Heights. We also get some nice footage of a Trans World Airlines 747 arriving at San Francisco International Airport as wel as the delegation's convoy travelling from the airport to the city.

I have just added another batch of five original ABC press photos to the related section on the media page. This time, I uploaded premieres for seasons 3 and 4 plus another picture for the initial episode of season 5 (The Thrill Killers). Furthermore, you might be delighted to see season 5 additions for Castle Of Fear, starring Pat Hingle, as well as for Dead Lift, starring no less than Arnold Schwarzenegger performing the psychologically instable body-builder Joe Schmidt (in a rather 'moderate' acting performance as many say). Nonetheless, the press photo is quite hard to find so I am happy and proud to be able to have it online for you all out there. The media gallery now totals in 70 original press photos issued by ABC.
